Dr. Hussein Abolmakarem, an esteemed Obstetrician and Gynecologist, with a career of expertise and leadership in the field of women’s health. He brings over three decades of comprehensive clinical and academic experience. His journey, which began with an M.B., B.Ch. from Cairo University in November 1983, has culminated in notable qualifications. Also, Dr. Hussein’s qualifications include an M.Sc. in Obstetrics and Gynecology in May 1990 and the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).
Dr Hussein Abolmakarem’s expertise spans obstetric, gynecological, and fetal medicine, with a particular focus on ultrasound scanning and feto-maternal medicine. His proficiency includes dating scans, mid-trimester fetal anatomy surveys, diagnosis and management of fetal anomalies, fetal growth scans. Also he has specialisation in Doppler assessments and various invasive procedures. Subsequently, Dr. Abolmakarem has also been actively involved in teaching, acting as a lecturer, trainer, and examiner in professional diploma programs and the Egyptian Board for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has also designed, supervised, and implemented numerous training courses for junior doctors in obstetrics, gynaecology, and ultrasound.
Dr. Hussein Abolmakarem has contributed significantly to research in his field, with topics ranging from improving ultrasound diagnosis to the role of Doppler in fetal anomalies. His dedication is evident in the numerous presentations and publications, showcasing his commitment to advancing medical knowledge.
In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Abolmakarem has demonstrated leadership as the Deputy Medical Director at Algala Teaching Hospital, Cairo. He has attended conferences and courses globally, including those organized by the Fetal Medicine Foundation and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
